  • Abstract
Sensors are small battery operated devices having small life span. These sensors are deployed in harsh conditions and hence are susceptible to failure. If any of sensor nodes dies or malfunction in the network, then the data collected by the base station may be incorrect and degrades quality of decisions made by the base station. Relay node placement is an efficient method which can be used to restore connectivity of the partitioned network. However, these relay nodes are costlier than the sensor node and therefore the count of relay nodes deployed should be minimized. This paper presents an efficient technique to place relay nodes in the partitioned wireless sensor network so as to restore connectivity. The technique discussed in this paper is based on game theory and calculates PDF of each partition.
