Abstract
In this paper, the effect of shadowing on the ultra wide band (UWB) system, over the indoor channel model is calculated. Various channel impairments that affect the performance of 802.15.3a indoor channel model are intra pulse interference (IPI), types of modulation scheme, narrow band interference (NBI) and Rake receiver combining scheme e.g. EGC, MRC, MMSE. The shadowing as channel impairment considered in this paper and the performance of considered channel model is find out. From the analytical results it is clear that, shadowing has shown a considerable effect on the BER performance of indoor UWB channel model. This paper is proposing the simplest method to calculate the average bit-error-rate (ABER) for the effect of shadowing and verified this proposed analytical method by the simulated results.
