Abstract
This paper considers optimal allocation of both dispatchable and renewable Distributed Generating units in the distribution network to maximize the benefits to the Local Distribution Company (LDC), related to the customers connected to the system. The suggested optimization technique programmed through MatLAB software, helps to identify the optimal buses on which to connect these DG units. The cost of energy losses are minimized by maximizing the savings and economic benefits by considering variable hourly cost of energy. The implementation of the optimization technique is illustrated by taking IEEE 39-bus system and IEEE69-bus system.
