Abstract
The virtual prototype of modified planetary transmission was established by using the parametric modeling techniques in PTC Creo Parametric. The meshing stiffness is calculated according to the relative parameters and material property of the modified gears. The dynamic modal analysis was done in virtue of finite element model of the planetary gears in ANSYS, obtained the natural frequency and corresponding vibration mode, find the difference of natural frequencies between the normal and fault planetary gear of the transmission. It can be used in the mechanical design process to avoid the resonance phenomenon because of the theoretical natural frequency, and provided the reference and basis for the fault diagnosis of planetary gear system.
