Abstract
The coherent PM QPSK 100G technology is getting matured and rapidly deployed in telecom backbone network. However, the coherent and high speed DSP based 100G technology is still too much expensive, especially, when 100G goes to access network and data center switch inter-connection applications. We propose a new 100G technology which is based on Inverse-Multiplexing Technology and MLD (Multiplex-lane Distribution) mechanism. We have prototyped this idea into a low cost and real 100G system, and successfully completed error free transmission over 48 hours through the conventional 160 km SM fiber using a standard 100GbE signal.
