  • Abstract
According to the well-developed of internet, the “telehealth" with "telemedicine" and “telecare" concepts have become part of today´s health care system. In 2015, 65-yearold population in Taiwan stands 11% of the total population which is in the `aged society´ range set by United Nations. Elderly people are usually accompanied by chronic diseases and they also need long-term medication. Elderly people lack cognitions of drugs and the right concepts of safely using them, which causes self-adjusting the dose or frequency, or even self-withdrawal and other issues. Therefore, the demand for pharmacy services will be more ardent. Just so we know, the medication stability is the key to healthy life, thus we combined ICT technology, home care and community pharmacy via telepharmacy services as a research purpose. Therefore we designed a drug dispensing device (patent pending) featuring accuracy time, dosage and relating information of drug taking. Projects combining community pharmacists and community nurses delivering collaborative care and pharmaceutical services for patients´ families through dispensing devices and human services to lower the chances of elderly person taking dangerous drugs and to improve efficiency and accuracy. We monitored the drug and meanwhile combined with APP to keep family members and pharmacists aware of the elderly people medication. Experiments showed that this device indeed increase the willingness of use by family members, manager (family, pharmacists and community nurses) and the caregivers also have a consistent awareness and recognition with it.
