Abstract :
Although optical network is meant for high speed connectivity for Longhaul transmission, but there is a significant amount of contention over the Optical Burst Switching (OBS) networks. Therefore, this paper introduces a technique that adopts graph theory and identifies the area of congestion in OBS traffic. The system then performs a mechanism to resist the contention in traffic by detouring the burst to less congested OBS traffic using information of network states through burst control packet. The proposed system also considers the constraints of neighbor as well as load on the OBS traffic and proposes a solution to main state information of neighbor optical nodes. The outcome of the study is evaluated using burst loss probability to show that proposed system can maintain better reduction of contention in increasing load of OBS traffic.
