Abstract :
In Delay Tolerant Network (DTN), the buffer size and bandwidth are some of the resources which outruns more often and further offers limited consumptions, which results in the congestion and affects the performance of the entire network, Due to the network characteristics and `store-carry-forward´ transfer strategy of DTN, it can be used on top of standard TCP/IP and it´s congestion control mechanism. In DTN the congestion control is the wide researched sector in because as it could able to establish the network in an unfavorable environment where network infrastructure is not readily available. Even after the successful deployment of a network the high priority messages must be taken care of, and they must not be dropped as it affects the foundation of DTN environment, because some applications are found to be sensitive. Some of the well-known congestion control strategies have been discussed compared after which a routing algorithm is proposed by studying them.
