Abstract :
In this paper, the combination of fuzzy logic controller and genetic algorithm are proposed. A fuzzy control system is a control system based on fuzzy logic a mathematical system that analyzes analog input values in terms of logical variables. The purpose of fuzzy system is to determine the capacity of interline power flow controller (IPFC) in terms of voltage deviation. The optimal location of IPFC is done by genetic algorithm (GA), which generates solutions to optimization problems using techniques inspired by natural evolution, such as inheritance, mutation, selection, and crossover. The proposed technique maintains the voltage stability and minimizes the transmission loss of the transmission system. For analyzing the nonlinear power flow of the transmission system, Newton Raphson method is utilized. The proposed technique is implemented in MATLAB working platform and its performance is tested with IEEE 30 bus system.
