Abstract :
A compact multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna with two antenna elements having different operational bandwidth is proposed in this paper. The structure is a combination of UWB antenna operating from 3.1 to 10.6GHz and a narrow band antenna centred at 5.45GHz for WIFI applications (5.19-5.9 GHz) sharing same substrate. An array of Split Ring Resonators (SRR) and a metallic strip is placed between the two antennas to enhance their mutual isolation. Antennas are designed and fabricated on FR-4 substrate and provides |S12|> 20dB along with desired S11 and S22 for both the monopoles. The simulated envelope correlation coefficient is less than 0.01.
