Abstract :
This paper demonstrates the characteristics of a microstrip antenna radiating circularly polarized conical beam. The proposed antenna is realized four microstrip line fed slot patches whose diagonal corners are truncated to realize circular polarization. Simulation and optimization of the antenna has been carried out using FEM based commercial software HFSS. Engineering prototype of the overall antenna has been fabricated and performance measured. The antenna yields about 12.2% impedance bandwidth. Simulation and measured results are also presented.
