Abstract :
This paper gives an idea to reduce the harmonics contained of current source modified half bridge inverter in the input power supply. Here, a LC low pass filter is incorporated for block the harmonics and exposed the sinusoidal input at supply end. For distinguish between fundamental and harmonics Fourier transform is used as this is a better analytical tool in the frequency domain for getting unknown signal. The simulated waveforms have been shown to justify the feasibility for real implementation of single phase current source modified half bridge inverter fed induction heater in industrial application as well as domestic application. The Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) has been significantly reduced from about 49.92% to less than 3.97% by the application of the power semiconductor Switch.
