Abstract :
This paper presents a new technique of state estimation using complex bus injection currents, extracted from bus active and reactive power measurements and constant observation matrix. The proposed scheme is fast as it does not require calculation of Jacobian matrix during the iterations. The proposed technique has been tested on IEEE 5-bus, 14-bus, 30-bus, 57-bus and 118-bus test systems under different simulated operating conditions and the test results are presented. The performances of the proposed technique have been compared with the same of Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) technique. The results and error analysis presented clearly reveal the superiority of the proposed scheme under all test conditions.
