Abstract :
The paper studies the load flow simulation studies of North Eastern Grid of India using PSS®E, well-accepted and commercial software from SIEMENS. The studied system comprises of 143 buses of different voltage levels and transmission lines running over a length of 6445 km. 80% loading for all the lines has been assumed for this study. The results have been validated by solving the model using DIgSILENT, also commercially known as Power Factory and a satisfactory convergence in both of the result has been seen. Simulations have also been performed for various kinds of faults.
