Abstract :
In this paper, we propose an enhancement for Activity Based Motion Estimation Scheme for scalable video coding. The proposed modifications are implemented and compared to the original Activity based motion estimation scheme in terms of PSNR performance of encoded video and computational complexity. It is verified through empirical analysis that the proposed enhancement fares better than the original Activity Based Motion Estimation Scheme in terms of both PSNR performance and computational complexity.
