Abstract :
This paper presents a compact ultra-wide band antenna with band-notched characteristics. The antenna has stable radiation pattern with return loss below - 10 dB except for 5.15-5.825 GHz, which is the band allocated to WLAN by IEEE 802.11a and HIPERLAN/2, achieved by inserting a U-shaped slot in radiating element.
