Abstract
An efficient near-field measurement technique for predicting far-field monostatic RCS of targets is studied. In the case that the height of the target is sufficiently small so that the far-field criterion is satisfied in the vertical direction, the theory and algorithm of near-field to far-field transformation for this measurement technique are derived. With the perfect conductor cylinder as the target under test, the computer simulation of this measurement technique is performed. The calculation results show that the far-field monostatic RCS obtained by near-field to far-field transformation agrees with the far-field monostatic RCS calculated directly by EM simulation software FEKO very well, which proves the correctness and validity of this measurement technique.
