Abstract :
An all-digital quadrature RF transmitter implemented in TSMC 65-nm CMOS technology is presented. The transmitter incorporates an 8-bit low-pass ΣΔ modulator to reduce the digital baseband data width and the complexity of multi-bit power amplifier cells while not significantly deteriorate the in-band signal quality. For an 802.11g 20MHz OFDM signal, the transmitter achieves 13.93dBm average output power with 30.34% drain efficiency.
