Abstract
In order to meet the requirement of fast starting to work for wireless sensor network system in deep duty cycle running mode, a crystal oscillator with fast starting characteristics is expected. In this paper, the crystal oscillator theory is reviewed, and the key factor that limits starting speed of conventional crystal oscillator is revealed. A new way to overcome slowly starting is proposed, and 10 times faster performance is achieved in a practice chip design.
