Abstract :
This article proposes a magnetic localization method based on a simplified magnetic field model. By using four 3-axis magnetometers, a current coil underground is able to be localized with this system. Besides, two algorithms based on the method are compared. Our simulation results demonstrate that, the improved algorithm has a better performance and is qualified for a real-time localization system. Moreover, the system error is no more than 0.25m, which allows this method to be used for middle(or long)-distance localization.
