Abstract :
In this paper, a fast direction of arrival (DOA) estimation algorithm based on rotation array for intelligent transportation system (ITS) is proposed. The vehicle radar system is the essential part of ITS, which guarantees the vehicles drive in security. By rotating two antenna elements and setting a fixed time delay, even number of elements is selected to form an UCA. Then, the received data of targets can be sampled at multiple positions, which improves the utilization of the array elements greatly. At last, applying the modified propagator method (MPM) to the rotation array, the DOAs could be obtained. Finally, Computer simulations verified the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm with high resolution and estimation accuracy. Most of all, because of the significant reduction of array elements number, the array antenna system is much simplifier and has lower complexity than traditional system.
