Abstract
This paper presents a new image compression technique which is based on adaptive resampling of the image matrix. The resampling method is applied to a two dimensional case by applying resampling on a Hilbert-Peano space filling curve. A fast resampling algorithm is also proposed. Although not being competitive with state of the art image coders at its current stage preliminary research suggested potential improvements.
