Abstract :
In this paper several forward link power allocation algorithms for multiservice wideband CDMA wireless communication system with parameters similar to UTRA W-CDMA are proposed and analyzed. Their performance is verified for a mixed voice (connection-oriented) and packet data (connectionless) traffic. Simulation results for a multi-cell system under typical radio propagation and traffic conditions indicate that an algorithm allowing for queuing of both voice calls and data blocks (with the 100 msec maximum allowable delay for voice calls), as well as the system-imposed limited reduction on the requested data rate, is capable of ensuring relatively high system capacity at reasonable quality of service.
