Advances in spoken dialogue systems development

The paper describes some aspects of previous developments of spoken dialogue systems. Furthermore, some of the services that are most attractive for applications of spoken dialogue systems are given. The development of a robust dialogue manager is discussed and open problems of robust speech recognition are described. Current trends in spoken dialogue systems development and automatic speech recognition and synthesis are also outlined.
