Abstract :
We show that the overall polarization of a WDM signal has to be minimized in order to reduce cross-phase modulation induced polarization scattering (XPMIPS) between channels of a DWDM system which can limit the effectiveness of PMD compensators or polarization demultiplexing mechanisms.
