  • Abstract
The L-Wigner distributions are defined in order to improve the concentration of signal´s time-frequency representation, along the instantaneous frequency (IF). The main goal of this paper is to develop an adaptive, the L-Wigner distribution based, IF estimator with the time-varying and data-driven window length and distribution order that is able to provide the quality close to the one what could be achieved if the smoothness of the IF were known in advance. The developed algorithm uses only the formula for the variance of the estimates. Simulations show good accuracy ability of the adaptive algorithm.
