Abstract :
This paper presents the derivation of the approximate probability density function (PDF) of the signal to interference ratio (SIR) of a CDMA system, which employs a linear antenna array at the base station. As is well known, the space diversity gain is reduced due to correlation between array elements, therefore the correlated Rayleigh fading environment is of particular interest. We obtained a simple expression for the approximate PDF of the SIR, which provides a fast way to investigate the statistical behavior of the SIR. The analytical result is confirmed by Monte Carlo simulations.
