Abstract :
Modelling of self-pulsations based on phase controlled mode beating (PhasCOMB) shows a speed potential of 160 GHz. A first device is fabricated. A frequency tuning range of 25 to 82 GHz is obtained and all optical clock recovery at 80 Gb/s PRBS sequence is demonstrated.
