Abstract :
A new scheme for generating a single optical clock pulse from an ultrafast asynchronous optical packet is proposed and a 6.6-ps pulse is demonstrated. The scheme uses an InP OEIC, a gain-switched LD, and a pulse compressor, and is applicable to a self-serial-to-parallel conversion system.
