Abstract :
Summary form only given. Giant photoinduced Faraday rotations were observed in bulk semimagnetic semiconductors for frequencies close to the band-gap resonance that can be exploited for high-contrast signal processing and also for the development of sensitive nonlinear diagnostics. In this paper we present experimental results showing that large photoinduced rotations can also be achieved in CdTe-CdMnTe multiple quantum wells when the frequency is close to the excitonic resonance.
