Abstract :
We investigate a suboptimum version of the iterative multistage maximum likelihood algorithm presented by Imai and Hirakawa (1977). Application to block coded modulation is considered. Conditions are introduced which reduce the computational complexity and decoding delay. Simulation results support the claims.
