Abstract :
The state of the USA´s economy and particularly the state of industry today underscores the critical need to maximize effectiveness, as an industry, as teams, and as individuals. It is widely recognized that some people are far more productive than others, and it is particularly true in the sciences. Many studies have been done to uncover the reasons for this, and the only conclusion that one can make for sure is that the reasons are a bit elusive! This paper combines the results of research with over 30 years of working with some extremely effective people. Most important, it suggests a number of very specific techniques to maximize individual and team effectiveness. These techniques, if practiced on a large scale, will do much to help the USA excel in the new technology markets of the economy
