Abstract :
The paper presents the results of the analysis of the voltage sag propagation in distribution networks. Two different networks are used in the study. Voltage sags resulting from the symmetrical and asymmetrical faults in the system are calculated. Different network topologies (radial, semi-meshed and meshed) of a generic distribution network are examined. The influence of the loading conditions of the network and pre-fault voltages is assessed. The contribution of the embedded generation to voltage sag propagation is also investigated.
