Abstract
The environmental impact of lead released from electronic equipment, other than batteries, may seem to be extremely low but it is becoming a major concern all over the world. Japanese and European manufacturers are already working to remove lead from all new products before such action becomes mandatory by law. Because of the massive use of DC/DC converters within new electronics applications, ´lead-free´ is considered to be a major concern for next generation of systems
