Abstract
Finite element analysis was used to analyze the motion of a portabella mushroom due to a single raindrop and 30 m/s wind. The resultant stresses are found to be concentrated at the top and bottom of the stipe. The pileus deviates a maximum of three degrees from horizontal orientation helping to optimize reproductive capability.
