Abstract :
We improve the bit error rate (BER) performance of block coded modulation (BCM) by simply introducing single parity check codes (SPCC). Two types of parity check operations are investigated. The proposed scheme is suited to parallel processing and only hard decision is needed in the decoding procedure. Computer simulation results are given to show the coding gains.
