Abstract :
This work analyzes two problems that were found during testing one of the available IPv6 implementations. The first problem may cause IPv6 routing not to work even on a simple network that contains only two subnets (prefixes) if the end-stations are based on minimal IPv6 requirements. Since this problem is tied to terminology found in RFC2461, it is worth considering the cause of the problem. The second problem is related to suboptimal default router selection that may cause unnecessary redirect traffic. This work also suggests some methods to solve these problems.
