Abstract
By means of advanced on-site PD analysis, information about the insulation condition of power cables can be obtained. In the case that at a cable non-accepted PD activity has been measured, it is of importance to locate the discharge site. This paper describes the fundamental problematic of PD pulse propagation and numeric analysis. Furthermore, the application of a practical solution for PD location techniques based on field measurements is discussed.
