Abstract :
In recent papers it has been shown that any microstrip structure can be modelled using 2D TLM approach. The procedure is based on domain segmentation and then replacing segments with their equivalent RLC circuits. There are a lot of different segment types: rectangular, squared, trapezoidal, radial etc. For all these segment types equivalent networks and circuits elements are derived. A very important aspect of the model is its accuracy. In this paper, model accuracy depending on segment size is discussed. Analysis has been carried on for the rectangular subsection type, but similar conclusions can be obtained for the other segment shapes. The derived results are illustrated on a numerical example.
