Abstract :
This paper is concerned with discrete logic function minimization and realization using two-level disjunctive normal forms. Hypermine-Logic Minimization Application written by the author will be utilized for performing minimization of four logic functions: adder/subtractor, comparator, multiplier and square rooter from 4 up to 16 input variables. An exclusive-OR transformation of the higher half of the input variables will be applied in the second round of minimization of the specified functions. It will be pointed out that XOR transformation significantly reduces number of generated minterms but only with additive and comparator functions. Transformation has small effect on multiplier and opposite effect on square root function.
