Abstract
A novel one-dimensional (1-D) photonic bandgap (PBG) structure for microstrip lines is proposed in this study. The PBG structures are designed and fabricated with different configurations, but the same period. It is shown that the stopband characteristics may be controlled by the geometrical configuration. Also, double-frequency-tuned PBG structure is derived by changing the geometrical configuration and the dimension of a conductor strip in geometrical structure.
