Abstract
The effect of the optical anisotropy induced by magnetic ordering in cubic crystals on the symmetry of the susceptibility tensor is studied from both the macroscopic and the microscopic point of view. The analysis shows the angular dependence of the tensor when the crystal is rotated about a three-fold axis normal to the magnetization.
