Abstract :
We demonstrate a new method of pulse amplitude equalisation in higher order optical pulse trains from a rational harmonically mode-locked fibre ring laser. The method is based on an intra-cavity optical filtering via a fibre Fabry-Perot etalon, and even-order modulation sideband generation using the nonlinear characteristic of the Mach-Zehnder intensity modulator.
