Abstract :
Necessary and sufficient multi-input/multioutput conditions for local controllability and causal reconstructibility of 2-D systems are presented, which are based on 2-D matrix polynomial equations. The conditions are computationally attractive; only unimodular operations in a Euclidean ring are required. In addition, when testing controllability and/or reconstructibility, one obtains a deadbeat regulator and/or an exact observer as by products.
