Abstract :
We propose and demonstrate a novel intra-bit polarization diversity modulation technique that can completely remove first-order polarization mode dispersion (PMD). The performance is independent of the differential group delay (DGD) value. A 4 dB improvement of 2% received optical power tail is obtained over the conventional NRZ format in the presence of higher-order PMD.
