Abstract
The impact of filter concatenation effects on the performance of 10 Gb/s transmitters (DMLs and EA-DFBs) suitable for cost-effective transparent WDM metropolitan area optical networks is investigated with recirculating loop experiments. The performance of filters designed for both 200 GHz and 100 GHz spacing DWDM networks is considered.
