Abstract :
High power piezoelectric devices are driven under high electric signal. To characterize the material in conditions close to their use in high acoustic power emission, we need to reach high strain or high strain velocity. This can be achieved only at resonance where the mechanical Qm factor amplifies the field-induced strain (by a factor of Qm). An experimental method is proposed to measure the strain of piezoceramic at resonance. The results measured on piezoelectric relaxor ceramic materials are compared with the performances obtained in Barrel Stave transducers
