Abstract :
This paper presents a trellis coded modulation (TCM) technique based on a {m-PSK}2 modulation. The {m-PSK}2 modulation scheme is an alternative modulation based on a partial spectral overlapping of two m-PSK modulations. The TCM{m-PSK}2 system is transmitted over a land mobile radio channel. The model channel is non-frequency selective fading but considers the effects caused by shadowing. The model is based on white Gaussian noise processes obtained by finite sum of weighted sinusoids. This model approximates stochastic processes such as Rayleigh, log-normal and Suzuki processes. Performance curves, for the system obtained by computer simulation in that channel environment, are also shown.
