A standard dictionary for computer terminology: Project 610

A description is given of the activities of the 610 working group, which is organized under the Standard Coordinating Committee of the IEEE Computer Society´s Standards Activities Board. The objective of the 610 effort is twofold: to provide a useful reference to those who come across computer-related terminology and want to know what the words mean, and to standardize terminology. The dictionary development process is examined, and issued in dictionary development that have arisen are discussed.
