Abstract :
Dr. Josef W. Modelski was recently awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the Lodz University of Technology in Poland. This is one of the highest recognitions of scholarship in Poland, awarded rarely. The presentation of this prestigious award to Dr. Modelski was made during a special ceremony attended by his colleagues and peers from throughout Poland (Figures 3???5). The citation for Dr. Modelski reads (translated from Latin) "... a distinguished scientist of worldwide authority, meritorious for the integration of the scientific community in Poland as well as for the promotion of Polish achievements abroad." Dr. Modelski continues to be an active member of the Polish scientific community.
